How to create a VKAX Wallet Node and start mining automatically on boot (windows)
This guide is a complete introduction on getting started with the VKAX Core network using a fresh windows installation.
You will learn how to use hardware you have laying around with at least 1 core cpu and 1 gig of ram, to make a node and mine.
To begin, prepare your devices. You can use your main pc, an old pc or a laptop. You will also need a USB drive if you want to install windows fresh.
Rufus is a free, popular tool used to create installable usb boot drives. You can use this to install windows on a new computer.

After creating a windows install USB, insert it into the device of choice and load the boot menu
To access the boot screen usually you spam press F12 as the system boots (sometimes F11 or DEL)
Install windows normally, make sure to update and install all cpu and gpu drivers needed.
Once up to date you are ready to install the wallet.
Download the VKAX Windows Wallet installer.

*IMPORTANT* When running the wallet for the first time, make sure to use the “VKAX” folder located in your documents you created as a custom directory.
After running for the first time, the wallet may take a few moments to synchronize with the network.
You can open the settings tab on top and enable the “Start Vkax Core on system login” option to ensure the wallet loads when the device boots.
You are advised to encrypt your wallet file and create a backup in a secure locations which is offline and unknown to your family or friends.
When you are ready, go to the “Receive” tab and “Create new receiving address”
You can give this address a label, such as “Mining”
How to mine
Not only can the device be a node, but you can also set the device to use excess cpu or gpu power and to mine VKAX when the device boots.
When you are ready, go to the “Receive” tab in your wallet and “Create new receiving address”
You can give this address a label, such as “Mining”
Create a new folder on your computer and name it “mining” or something you can remember.
Navigate to your exclusions folder, to get there:
Windows Security -> Virus & Threat Protection, then scroll down to “Virus & Threat protection settings”
scroll down to find “Exclusions” then click “Add or remove exclusions”
(You could also press the windows key on your keyboard and search for “exclusion” to find “Virus & Threat protection settings”)
Press the “[+ Add an exclusion button]” and select the “mining” folder that you created earlier.
This ensures your computer can mine without interference.
You can use SRBMiner to mine with your CPU or Wildrig to mine with your GPU
If you would like to use your GPU to mine download Wildrig
The link below includes Wildrig and an example batch file to start a VKAX miner,

You can use both your CPU and GPU to mine at the same time,
Use SRBMiner to mine with your CPU
The link below includes SRBMiner and an example batch file,

Make sure to save the zip files and extract them within the “mining” exclusion folder you created earlier, otherwise windows will prevent you from mining.
Run the batch file contained within the mining folder to begin the mining operation. Make sure to change the wallet address in the batch file with your wallet.
Paste your wallet address into zergpool.com to monitor your mining worker status.
You can use windows task scheduler to start the miner on boot.
This makes mining easy as once the device is setup you do not need a monitor screen, keyboard or mouse to start the mining operation. If you have many devices or want discreet mining this is essential.
To access the task scheduler press the windows key, then type “task scheduler” to locate the app.
Once open press “create task” on the right hand side to open a new task screen. Be sure to select “run whether user is logged on or not” to ensure the task works as expected
Create a new “triggers” and “actions” using the tabs in the task screen.
Under the “triggers” tab, select “New…” to create a new event. Make sure to select “Begin the task: On startup” then click okay.
Under the “actions” tab select “New…” to create a new action. Make sure to select the vkax mining start script you downloaded to the “mining” folder you created earlier.
After doing both, select okay and save. Once your system starts the next time, it will execute and run the miner automatically saving you time in the future.
